Bath or Tub

How do I cool down the water?

Add cold water and ice, or use our Chiller to cool down the water to the correct temperature.

Will I fit in the Ice Bath?

Our bath will fit almost any individual up to 6'9" / 2.1m of height.

What is the Ice Bath made of?

Side: Nylon + PVC + pearl cotton + PVC + waterproof lining coating

Bottom: PVC + waterproof lining coating + EPE

Who can use the ice bath?

The pod is only intended for healthy adults above the legal age that can normally climb in and out of the pod. The pod is not intended for minors, children, elderly, persons with disabilities, health problems, women during pregnancy, pets, etc. Consult your physician if unsure.

What quantity of ice should I include?

We suggest adding 15-40 pounds (7-18 kilograms) of ice to the Ice Bath for each session, depending on the starting temperature of the water. The necessary amount of ice is greatly influenced by the temperature of your tap water, the climate in your area, and your desired level of coldness. In colder climates, it might not be necessary to add any ice at all. Because the bath is insulated, it retains coldness for a longer duration, reducing the need for additional ice after the initial use. Always have the lid and cover placed onto it to slow down the heating process.

You may avoid using the ice altogether if you use our specially designed chiller to cool down the water temperature.

Ice Bath dimensions, its capacity and user limits

Diameter: 29 inches (75 cm)

Height: 29 inches (75 cm)

Weight: 7 lb (3 kg)

Capacity: 79 gal (300L)

Designed for individuals with heights of up to 6 feet 9 inches (2.1 meters) and accommodates people weighing up to 300 pounds (135 kilograms) with optimal comfort.

How quickly does it fill with up with water?

Depend on the hose's diameter, water pressure level, and length. Normally, the flow rate of a standard garden hose ranges from 9 to 17 gallons per minute. On average, the GPM of a garden hose falls within the range of 12 to 13, although this can fluctuate depending on the specific type of hose used.

Can I fill the pod with anything else besides water?

The pod was made only to be filled with water. You may add salts, fragrances or disinfectants to the water, but always follow the label instructions. Excessive use may not only cause health issues, but may also damage the pod or the chiller.

Is the product easily portable?

When empty, yes! The Ice Bath is designed to be portable, allowing you to conveniently carry it wherever you go. It can be compacted into a small box measuring 27.16 x 14.17 x 4.33 inches and weighs a total of 6.71 lbs / 3.5 kg.

When the pod is filled with water we advise against trying to move it, as you may damage the materials and/or yourself.

Can I use the Ice Bath outdoors?

Absolutely! We have engineered the Ice Bath to be resistant to weather conditions and UV rays, enabling you to set it up indoors or outdoors. To ensure the water remains cool we recommend placing it somewhere in the shade where the ambient temperature is low.

How does it maintain the water's coldness?

The Ice Bath is equipped with three to six layers and a protective lid ensuring the water temperature remains low for the maximal amount of time. For optimal results, we recommend placing your Ice Bath outdoors in a shaded area to maximize the passive overnight cooling effect. If desired, you can use our specially designated chiller or add ice.

How often should I clean or empty the Ice Bath?

Change the water every two weeks. After draining the water, we advise washing the interior surfaces with warm soapy water or a mild disinfectant. Tablet cleaners (chlorine tablets) can also be used to assist in cleaning or maintaining the water disinfected.

To maintain clean water for extended periods, we recommend adding salt or chlorine to the water. With the use of salt, you can keep the water in the bath for 2-4 weeks. If you do not use salt for disinfection, it is advisable to change the water every 3-5 sessions.

Does it come with a cover?

Yes, the Ice Bath includes a waterproof cover to keep the water clean.

Chiller

Safety Considerations

Never operate or have the chiller turned on while a person is in contact with water or taking a plunge. Never operate the chiller or any electrical equipment with your hands wet. Keep the chiller and any other electrical outlets away from the water and children. Turn off, unplug, and remove all electrical devices at a safe distance away from the bath before taking the plunge. Water may splash, causing electrical shock or spark, damaging electrical equipment, causing fire or bodily harm. Consider Safety Instructions provided along with the product.

Purchase just the tub or the chiller as well?

The decision is entirely yours. However, we recommend considering the tub-chiller combination as it simplifies the integration of ice baths into your routine. In this configuration, the water will be constantly chilled to the optimal temperature and ready for your plunge. The option with the chiller is also a financially cheaper alternative, considering the amount and price of the ice you will require for your regular ice plunge activity.

To minimize energy expenditure we also recommend placing the tub and the chiller in a shaded, cool area.

Chiller seems very expensive

Per ice plunge you will require between 60 - 100 pounds of ice to cool down the temperature to the desired 50°F (10°C). If you have a machine that can produce and store this amount of ice in an energy efficient manner then you are good to go.

But if you consider the cost of buying ice - with prices located somewhere between $0.23/lb to $1.10/lb at your local store, you will spend between $39.9 - $66.5 per plunge, to cool it down to the required temperature. You can see why this solution is financially very wallet-exhausting on a long term and you can quickly calculate after how many plunges your investment is fully paid off.

The price of the chiller is higher than expected since it has to be capable to reduce the temperature of a significant amount of water (up to 80 gal / 300L) in a reasonable amount of time under the atmospheric conditions ranging up to 80°F (27°C).

Can the chiller be used outside?

It can, but ensure it is placed in a safe, cool, dry place, not under direct sunlight. Consider all other general precautions and recommendations for dealing with electrical equipment.

If this is not possible, we recommend placing it indoors and buying a longer hose with a stronger pump.

Does the chiller come with a filter?

No, the chiller does not come with a water filter.

Cold Therapy

Safety Considerations

Our company is not a medical advisor and does not offer any medical diagnoses or the like. You are therefore responsible for your own health. Consult your doctor before you start participating in ice plunges, particularly if you have any underlying health condition.

While colder temperatures may offer certain advantages, it is important to prioritize safety during cold therapy. Extreme cold temperatures can increase the risk of frostbite, spasms, hypothermia, or other adverse effects. For the safest experiences of ice plunges follow recommended guidelines and the following safety precautions:

  1. Start with milder temperatures, and gradually adjust as your body becomes more accustomed to the therapy. Start by dipping your toes and then gradually submerging yourself. This reduces the risk of cold shock.
  2. Immersion in cold water can cause a sudden increase in heart rate and blood pressure which might not be suitable for everyone. Especially when starting out, consider a Buddy System - ensure that someone is with you or nearby, ready to assist in case of any adverse reactions.
  3. Limit your time in the icy water. Beginners should start with just a few seconds, slowly increasing up to a minute or more as they gain experience and tolerance. Spending too long on the ice can lead to hypothermia.
  4. Always ensure you have a safe and quick way to get out of the water, a towel to dry, and a warm area to resort to in case of an emergency.
  5. After the ice plunge it is crucial to warm up. Do it gradually. Rushing to heat up too quickly can cause further stress on your body. If you do not know any proven methods we recommend sipping on warm drinks, putting on dry and warm clothing, and waiting for your body to regain its normal temperature naturally.
  6. If you experience any of the following symptoms they may indicate hypothermia: intense shivering with skin and lips potentially turning blue or grey, exhaustion, drowsiness, memory loss, slurred speech, loss of coordination, fatigue, and confusion. Seek immediate medical attention.
  7. Alcohol might make you feel warm but it actually lowers your body's ability to retain heat and impairs your judgment. Therefore, it's best to avoid alcohol before and after taking an ice plunge.

What are the benefits of cold therapy?

  1. Reduced muscle soreness and inflammation: Cold water immersion has been found to help alleviate muscle soreness and reduce inflammation after intense exercise or physical activity. The cold temperature can help constrict blood vessels and reduce the buildup of lactic acid, which is often associated with muscle soreness.
  2. Improved muscle recovery: Cold water immersion may aid in the recovery process by enhancing blood circulation and reducing swelling. This can help deliver oxygen and nutrients to the muscles, promoting their repair and recovery.
  3. Enhanced athletic performance: Some athletes use cold water immersion as a recovery strategy to enhance their performance. By reducing muscle soreness and inflammation, it may contribute to improved athletic performance in subsequent training or competition sessions.
  4. Pain relief: Cold water immersion has been reported to provide temporary pain relief for conditions such as arthritis, joint pain, and general muscular discomfort. The cold temperature can numb the area and potentially reduce pain signals.
  5. Increased alertness and mood enhancement: Exposure to cold water can trigger the release of certain hormones, such as endorphins and adrenaline, which can promote a sense of alertness and boost mood. It may also help reduce stress and anxiety.
  6. Potential immune system benefits: Some studies suggest that cold water exposure might have positive effects on the immune system, such as increasing white blood cell count and improving immune function. However, further research is needed to fully understand these potential benefits.

How to conduct ice baths?

Initially, start with shorter immersion periods of around 1-2 minutes and gradually increase the duration over time. Aim for a total immersion time of 5-10 minutes in colder water temperatures. Begin with 1-2 sessions per week and gradually increase the frequency as your body adapts. However, it is important to listen to your body and adjust the duration and frequency according to your individual comfort and tolerance levels.

When is the best time to take a cold plunge?

Following exposure to cold, your body tends to heat up. This increase in body temperature often leads to alertness, while decreases in body temperature tend to make us feel more inclined to sleep. Therefore, we suggest incorporating deliberate cold therapy earlier in the day and avoiding it too close to bedtime. If cold therapy affects your sleep, consider performing it earlier in the day or refraining from it altogether.

What temperature should the water be?

A general guideline for ice plunge water temperature ranges between 50°F (10°C) and 60°F (15°C). This temperature range is considered sufficiently cold to induce the desired health physiological responses in the body, such as vasoconstriction and improved recovery, while still being tolerable for most individuals.

Cold therapy is not a one-size-fits-all approach. Factors such as age, overall health, underlying medical conditions, and personal preferences should be taken into account when determining the ideal temperature and duration for cold therapy. Consulting with a healthcare professional who can provide personalized guidance based on your specific circumstances is highly recommended.

How should I start with cold therapies?

The duration and consistency of cold therapy sessions are key factors in achieving optimal results. Rather than solely focusing on lower temperatures, it is often more beneficial to prioritize consistent and extended exposure within a tolerable range. Regular cold therapy sessions, performed correctly and at a manageable temperature, can provide cumulative benefits for inflammation reduction, recovery, and overall well-being.

So start with the coldest temperature you can still tolerate on small body parts such as hands or feet. Then slowly progress by lowering the temperature, increasing the immersion of bigger parts of the body and extending the time amount.

How long should my ice baths be?

To get the health benefits, you'll need to stay in cold water below 59º Fahrenheit (15°C) for three to eight minutes.Cold water therapy works best with the right combination of time and temperature. Each individual is different and some people can tolerate lower temperatures.

Is an ice bath better than a cold shower or cryo-chamber?

Although cold showers are a good way to begin your cold therapy practice, ice baths offer the most optimal way to access the ultimate benefits. Ice baths provide a more powerful and impactful experience by stimulating all the receptors in your skin simultaneously. This heightened intensity triggers a protective response in your body, resulting in the release of feel-good hormones and a reduction in cortisol levels. Additionally, the hydrostatic pressure exerted by the water on you in an ice bath enables more efficient heat transfer in comparison to a shower or cryo-chamber, thanks to the higher water density. Are ice baths exclusively for athletes?

Absolutely not! Ice baths offer a wide range of physical and mental health benefits for anyone seeking to enhance their well-being and performance. Ice baths are not limited to athletes; they are used by individuals from various backgrounds who aim to operate at their optimal level. Many people incorporate ice baths into their routine as a form of resilience training, allowing them to systematically face and overcome stressful situations in their daily lives. Notable high achievers like Tony Robbins, Joe Rogan, Laird Hamilton, and Tim Ferris for instance, utilize ice baths on a daily basis to invigorate their body and mind, helping them reach their goals in work, life, and exercise.

Why did my credit card payment fail?

Sometimes due to various reasons your credit card might be declined for processing by our bank. There are many different reasons for that but usually it's due to either insufficient funds or information provided not matching information on the card. You can try making your purchase with another card - aside from that we unfortunatelly can't do anything about the declines.

When will I get my money back if you issued me a refund or a void?

Refunds are immediately sent to our bank for processing but it sometimes takes up to 10 days for the refund to be credited to your account. Please check for any transactions with the descriptor "IceRecharge".

Voids are always issued for the full amount and they can also take up to 10 days to be credited to your bank account. If you aren't sure you received your money please contact your bank and confirm with them and then contact us. A void means the original transaction wasn't settled yet, so the money was never actually taken from your account. The transaction won't show on your credit card statement, though it might appear in the list of pending transactions. Please allow up to 10 days for the transaction to be fully canceled.

Why does my bank statement show multiple charges for one purchase?

This may happen because you ordered additional items after placing the initial order. Contact info@icerecharge.com if the total amount is not correct.

What is your return policy?

You may read about it here.
